Party Scene privacy policy
Last updated October 24, 2026.
Party Scene is a Chrome extension that keeps a video in sync for people in the same room and lets them chat. This page says what the extension handles and who can see it.
What you type in
The name you pick is saved in the room and on your computer, so the room can show who is there. Chat messages, up to 500 characters each, are saved in the room. The room also stores whether the video is playing and where it is in the show, so everyone can stay together.
Camera and microphone
If you join the call, your camera and microphone go directly to the other people in the room through their browsers. Party Scene does not save that picture or audio. A short setup message passes through the room so the browsers can find each other, and then it is deleted.
The page you are watching
On your computer, the extension remembers which tab you attached, the page address, the video title, and a still of the paused frame. That stays in the browser until you quit Chrome. The page address and the video title are not uploaded with the room.
Where it is stored
Room name, your display name, chat, and the shared playback time are stored in Google Firebase Realtime Database so the other people in the room can read them. Firebase is the only service that receives that data. It is not sold, not used for ads, and not used to judge credit.
Someone with the room’s join code can open that room. Rooms and messages stay until they are removed. Leaving a room removes you from the people list. It does not delete the chat.
